Indeed, I'd like to avoid tftp if it's not absolutely necessary... and
I don't see why it would be.

Does anyone know if the pre-compiled ARMedslackware kernel support
netconsole? (If so, then it looks like the kernel boot crashes before
netconsole is operational).
